CLEVELAND — Notre Dame College in Cleveland has announced that following the 2024 academic year, the college will be permanently closing its doors.
Per a press release, Hiram College has announced they are partnering with Notre Dame College. Hiram College is signing a teach-out agreement to help current undergraduate students at Notre Dame shift to Hiram through an expedited and seamless transfer process.
All Notre Dame students will be guaranteed admission to Hiram College with no application fee. Hiram will provide 100% transfer of all credits granted by Notre Dame toward an equal or comparable degree program. Hiram will ensure that students will have the same timeframe to graduation as they had when in a similar program at Notre Dame.
“We are saddened by the news of Notre Dame’s closure and want to offer support to their students as they navigate their next steps,” said Dr. Rob Bohrer, interim president of Hiram College. We have closely looked at their core curriculum and believe that many of their academic offerings are a close match to those offered here at Hiram. Additionally, this partnership gives students the opportunity to directly transfer to a small liberal arts college, where they will be immersed in a similar atmosphere to Notre Dame with small class sizes, hands-on learning, individualized academic support, the opportunity to get involved in athletics, clubs and organizations, and more.”
Hiram will provide access to academic advisers and other support staff to ensure students are prepared and educated about the transition.
Hiram College is located in Hiram, Ohio and is centrally located between Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown.
