SEVILLE, Ohio — Officials are on the scene of a "Hazardous Materials Incident" at Bleachtech in Seville, according to a Facebook post from the Medina County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.

The post said a hydrochloric acid line broke, releasing acid into a contained area outside of the building located at 320 Ryan Rd. Officals said the immediate area has been evacuated, and businesses within a half a quarter-mile of the scene are being asked to shelter in place.

A post from the Medina County Sheriff's Office is also asking anybody within the quarter-mile radius to shelter in place. Initially, officials said the shelter in place order was for those within a half-mile.

Ryan Road will be closed until further notice. The post said Bleachtech is working with the Hazmat and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to clean up the scene and limit impacts to the surrounding ecosystem.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
