CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo announced the birth of a male tufted deer this week, who will be visible to the public just in time for the holidays.

The baby deer, born on Nov. 20, was the second calf for mom, Daisy, but the first for dad, Tuffy.

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo said Daisy and her baby will remain behind the scenes for a few weeks as they bond.

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's family continues to grow. Last week, the zoo announced the birth of two Amur tigers. The zoo said the tiger cubs were born on Nov. 6 to mom, Zoya, and dad, Hector, at the zoo’s Rosebrough Tiger Passage.

As with the new baby tufted deer, the tiger cubs won't be visible to the public for a while to give time for the mom to bond with them.
