OHIO — All U.S. and Ohio flags will be flown at half-staff across the state in response to Hamas' attacks on Israel, Gov. Mike DeWine announced Monday.

Flags will be at half staff starting at sunrise on Tuesday until sunset on Thursday.

Over the weekend, Israel's security cabinat declared war following surprise strikes from Hamas. Gov. Mike DeWine then declared Saturday and Sunday as days of prayer for the people of Israel.

More than 900 people have died in conflict, according to Israeli media reports, and among them were at least 11 Americans.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog wrote in a post on social media, "Not since the Holocaust have so many Jews been killed on one day."
