CLARK COUNTY, Ohio — There was a show of support outside the funeral services for Aiden Clark, 11, a Clark County boy killed when his school bus crashed last week. More than two dozen school buses parked around Fellowship Church in Springfield.

Bus drivers said they hope this tragedy will make motorists more cautious on the roads when they see a school bus.

“Our job is safety, and it’s not just up to us. Other drivers need to watch out what they’re doing, too,” said Tabitha Kohler, a bus driver for Piqua City Schools.

She and other drivers from her district traveled from the church to the roadside memorial on State Route 41, where the accident happened last Tuesday morning.

“The fact that you have a rolling billboard sign — they’re yellow, they’re huge, but too many times people don’t pay attention to that,” said Brandy Bell-Trapp, another bus driver from Piqua.

They said their hearts go out to Alfred Collier, the school bus driver involved in the accident.

“You’ve got love and support more than you'll ever know and we have prayed multiple angels surround you, your bus, and all the kids,” Kohler said.

“Every time you get behind the wheel, that’s your worst nightmare. And it’s two districts away — it could happen to any one of us and we love our kids they become like our own.”

As the Northwestern Elementary School Community remembers one of their own, they found out they have the support of their neighbors, driving school buses across Ohio.
