NEW ALBANY, Ohio — The Little League World Series is underway, and for the very first time, New Albany Little League will represent Ohio in the games.

The Eagles advanced from the Great Lakes Regional Tournament in Indianapolis last week, and now they're back to play in Williamsport, Pa. where the games are taking place.
Meanwhile, people back home couldn't be more proud.
"Our whole town is just rooting them on,” Shawna Roteff said.
Roteff is a New Albany Little League Eagles fan, but while her friend's son is playing, she's even more excited seeing her hometown team advance this far.
"Now that they're going to the World Series, I don't think it's something that we've had before. So, it's definitely a pride that all of us New Albany members and residents have for them,” she said.
And the support from other locals says it all.
"Best of Luck. I'm rooting for you. Make me proud,” said Jody Plant.
New Albany is playing in Williamsport, Pa. Thursday at 7 p.m. for their first little league matchup.
