AKRON, Ohio – During the month of September, Akron Zoo will once again thank the community for its support by offering free Community Days, the zoo said in a release.

The Akron Zoo began offering Community Days in 2001 after Summit County voters approved the zoo’s first levy.


What You Need To Know

  • Throughout September, Akron Zoo will once again thank the community for its support by offering free Community Days

  • There is a limit of four tickets per household and the zoo sets a specific number of free tickets for each day

  • Tickets must be reserved online in advance and free entry is only good for the date listed on the ticket

  • The zoo began offering Community Days in 2001 after Summit County voters approved the zoo’s first levy

During Community Days, Summit County residents can reserve free tickets online in advance of their visit, with a limit of four tickets per household while tickets last, the zoo said.

The zoo sets a specific number of free tickets for each day and online reservations are required.

To reserve tickets:

  • Go to the Akron Zoo website and create an online account
  • Select a date and add the tickets to your shopping cart
  • Fill out the registration information

Tickets are specific to the date selected and can only be used on the date printed on the ticket.  During registration, if the selected date isn’t available, the next available date will be offered.

The Akron Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and last admission to the park is 4:30 p.m. The zoo is located at 500 Edgewood Ave. just outside downtown Akron.
