CINCINNATI — Kings Island's infamous kids area, Planet Snoopy, will expand next year with a new roller coaster and play area, the park announced this week.

What You Need To Know

  • The new play area will be called Camp Snoopy, the park said

  • There will be tons of activities for kids to try, including Snoopy's Soap Box Racers, a boomerang roller coaster that sends riders back and forth with speeds up to 36 miles per hour

  • The park said Camp Snoopy will be open in 2024

The new play area will be called Camp Snoopy, the park said. The overall idea is to make it feel like a camp for kids, Kings Island explained. It'll have camp-like activities, such as lightning up a campfire or raising a flag.

There will also be tons of activities for kids to try, including Snoopy's Soap Box Racers, a boomerang roller coaster that sends riders back and forth with speeds up to 36 miles per hour.

Additionally, there will be areas for kids and families to play. Kings Island said Beagles Scout Acres will be designed as a campsite that'll have interactive equipment, tents for kids to climb into and more.

"It’s guaranteed to feel like a day at camp where you can play your way by exploring and relaxing in the great outdoors with Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts. Members of the Peanuts gang will lead you in Camptivities where you can raise the flag up the flagpole, light a campfire or make the camp bugle sound! Then, when you need a break, sit with the whole family and enjoy a snack," Kings Island wrote in a press release.

An exact date for the expansion to be open to the public wasn't revealed. More information is available at Kings Island's website.
