CANTON, Ohio — Hall of Fame week in Canton brought fans from near and far to the area.
Megan Haas, who’s from the Canton area, said she's been a Browns fan her whole life. It’s a dream come true for her, she said, to see Joe Thomas as part of the Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
“We have always talked about Joe Thomas and the day he was going to come to Canton where we live and just be part of this hometown for us,” she said.
This is her first time seeing a Browns player being inducted, Haas said, and it’s even more special with her kids by her side.
“This is super special to us. We’ve been Browns fans our whole life. We’ve raised the kids Browns fans and this is just something we’ve looked forward to since Joe retired,” she said.
Another long-time Browns fan, Joni Smith traveled from California to be at the Hall of Fame festivities.
“I wouldn’t have gave nothing to miss this,” she said.
Smith said it’s a memory that will stay with her forever.
“This is a lifetime for me. I would never ever, never ever, forget this,” she said.
The official enshrinement ceremony is Saturday at noon.
