Three weeks after the incident, Black Lives Matter and supporters want to see more action, as they gathered outside the Circleville Police Department Saturday afternoon.

"I'm out here, trying to get everybody to stand up and fight,” said Black Lives Matter supporter Cheryl Beverly.

This comes a week after the footage surfaced, capturing the moment a K-9 was let loose on a Black truck driver who is surrendering after a police chase. State troopers can be heard on the video telling a responding K-9 officer not to release his dog.

That K-9 officer was fired a couple days ago, but protesters still aren't happy.

"That's obviously wrong,” said Black Lives Matter supporter Zachary Brooks, “We know that. That's wrong. You don't attack somebody when they are in surrender."

They want to see change, including the firing of the police chief. "People need to be responsible for the actions of our department,” Brooks said.

They are also pushing for all officers to go through race sensitivity training, the canine dog to retire, and all charges on the truck driver to drop, but most of all, they want justice and fairness.

"It's going to take an army to really get some change,” said Brooks. “Me standing here by myself isn't going to get the job done. So, we need a handful of people to come out and voice their opinion."

The rally at the police department remained peaceful and wrapped up after a couple of hours.
