AKRON, Ohio – In the lead up to the Ohio primary election, voters in Summit County have cast their votes to select government officials and decide tax levies and other municipal issues.

On Election Day in Summit County, polls closed at 7:30 p.m.

All 13 Akron City Council seats are on ballots — 10 ward seats and three at-large seats.

Voters in Akron, Barberton, Tallmadge, Green, Twinsburg, Lakemore and Norton will elect a mayor, while many municipalities will fill city council seats, as well judicial and administrative positions.

  • Jude Yovichin (D) — 30.68%

Ward 3

  • Margo Sommerville (D) (incumbent) — 62.82%
  • Damarios S. Walker — 37.18%

Ward 4

  • Will Blake (D) — 14.45%
  • Janice Davis (D) ¸— 40.37%
  • Russel C. Neal Jr. (D) (incumbent) — 45.18%

Ward 5

  • Johnnie Hannah (D) — unopposed

Ward 6

  • Bradley McKitrick (D) (incumbent) — unopposed

Ward 7

  • Donnie Kammer (D) (incumbent) — unopposed

Ward 8

  • James Hardy (D) — 75.22%
  • Sage Lewis (D) — 24.78%

Ward 9

  • Tina Boyes (D) — 61.62%
  • Susan Culver (D) — 38.38%
  • Micah R. Townsend (R) — unopposed

Ward 10

  • Sharon L. Connor (D) (incumbent) — unopposed
