  •  The ramp was made possible with help of a city grant

“We carry everything from little toddler to some grownup readers,” Emrel Woody, sales associate at the shop, said.

Woody said the shop wants to make sure all are welcome. Shop employees realized the building’s setup could hinder the ability for some to get inside.

“When this building was built, there really wasn’t a way to get people who need the accessibility into the store,” she said.

Woody said they’ve been on a mission to make entering and leaving the store more accessible. That’s why they’ve recently finished putting in a ramp to cater to those with all abilities.

“We want more grandparents coming in with their grandchildren and we want more parents, aunts, uncles, whoever might need the ramp to come and have an amazing time at our store,” Woody said.

The ramp was made possible with the help of a city grant. Fort Thomas city leaders aspire for businesses to succeed. They have a Grow Grant program to help local small businesses with facade and improvement projects.

They’re still taking 2023 applications and announced recently they will be taking applications now through Jan. 27 at 4:30 p.m.

Woody said it’s a good feeling to be in a community where leaders help local businesses. “It’s honestly nice to see them being supported because we are the community,” Woody said.
