CINCINNATI — After being successful in all his attempts as Cincinnati won versus the previously undefeated Miami Dolphins, Bengals kicker Evan McPherson was named the Week 4 AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
McPherson was 2-for-2 on field goals, both coming in the fourth quarter to take and extend the Bengals’ lead, and was 3-for-3 on extra-point attempts. His field goals were from 19 yards and 57 yards, his third field goal of more than 50 yards of the season.
His first award of 2022, McPherson previously won AFC Special Teams Player of the Week twice before in 2021 in Weeks 1 and 11.
McPherson is the second Bengals player to be named player of the week. Defensive end Trey Hendrickson was the Week 3 AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
McPherson is also the second AFC North kicker to win special teams player of the week. Cleveland Browns kicker Cade York won the award in Week 1 after kicking the game-winner against the Panthers.
