CLEVELAND — Sheetz decided to drop gas below $4, but only for a limited time. Ohioans can fill up for $3.99 for unleaded (88 version), and $3.49 per gallon for E85 until July 4, the company announced.
Sheetz locations with these types of gasoline will offer the discount, which isn't at every store. Officials said they're doing it to help ease travel costs for the holiday weekend, as AAA predicts this year will break records for Ohioans hitting the road for Independence Day.
For Ohio and across the nation, gas prices have been above $4 over the last few months. As of Tuesday, AAA said the average gas prices in Ohio sit around $4.88 a gallon. The national average is $4.84, which is almost $2 more than last year.
Sheetz has more than 600 locations across six states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.
