CLEVELAND — As the war in Ukraine continues, Cleveland-area businesses are announcing fundraisers to help the nation with humanitarian needs.
The Parma-based bakery said that it will donate all proceeds from Saturday’s sales toward Plast Cleveland. Plast Cleveland said donations will be used to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.
Prama Artspace said the proceeds from Saturday’s sales of its best-selling items — cards and postcards — will also go toward Plast Cleveland.
The Solon-based restaurant will hold a charity brunch Sunday 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. with 100% of the proceeds going to help women in Ukraine. One of the charities the restaurant said it's supporting is U.N. Women.
The brunch costs $25 per person and reservations are required at 440-656-3553.
The Cleveland-area brewery said it created a what beer “Slave Ukraini” with $1 of each pint going toward the Ukrainian Red Cross. Forest City Brewery said it will also donate $1 for each pint of Furbelly Irish Stout sold through St. Patrick’s Day, for every order pierogies sold through Dyngus Day and for every Beer 101 event ticket.
The Cleveland-area deli said proceeds from the same of hamantaschens through March 12 will go toward the Hamantashen for Ukraine effort. Hamantashen for Ukraine has organized hundreds of restaurants throughout the world to sell hamantaschens and use the proceeds for Polish Humanitarian Action, which is providing humanitarian assistance for refugees from Ukraine.
