CLEVELAND — Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb announced the addition of two women who will serve as his chief education and chief youth and family success officers.

Bibb said Tuesday that Holly Trifiro will serve as the chief education officer and Sonya Pryor-Jones will serve as chief of youth and family success. Trifiro and Pryor-Jones will report directly to Bibb.

Trifiro has served as the executive director of Teach For America in greater Cleveland and more recently across Ohio, Bibb’s office said. She received a master’s degree in teaching from Johns Hopkins University following her undergraduate studies at Ohio State University.

Pryor-Jones served as the vice president and chief strategy officer at The Fab Foundation, a Boston-based nonprofit providing communities with knowledge and access to technology, Bibb’s office said. She is a Cleveland native who attended Cleveland Metropolitan Schools and holds a master’s degree in education from Cleveland State and an international studies degree from Kenyon College.

“Education is the foundation for a stronger future and Cleveland’s children are a priority for this administration,” Bibb said. “In order to implement our new vision, we need collaborative city-wide efforts to deliver an ecosystem of support that strengthens families and neighborhoods. These two leaders will focus on the success of our children and their families from early childhood to adulthood.”
