CLEVELAND — Five Cleveland Browns players — the most since the 2013 season — were named to the Pro Bowl roster by the NFL.

The players, guard Joel Bitonio, defensive end Myles Garrett, running back Nick Chubb, guard Wyatt Teller and cornerback Denzel Ward, will represent the Browns in the annual showcase. The announcement came moments before the Browns hosted the Raiders in a game rescheduled due to COVID-19. 

Additionally, four Browns players — defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, fullback Andy Janovich, center JC Tretter and  tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. — were named as alternates to the team. 

Bitonio and Garrett were the leading vote getters for their respective positions in a fan vote. Garrett is the first Browns defensive end since Bill Glass to earn at least three Pro Bowl honors. Chubb is the third Browns running back to make three consecutive Pro Bowls. Bitonio is the first Browns guard since Gene Hickerson to make four straight Pro Bowls. 

This year marked the second Pro Bowl nomination for Ward and Teller will play in his first Pro Bowl. 

Pro Bowl selections were decided by a consensus of votes of fans, players and coaches.

The 2022 Pro Bowl will be Feb. 6 in Las Vegas.
