With his performance, McPherson became the first kicker of the 2021 season to make three field goals of at least 50 yards in one game.
It is the second time McPherson was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, having claimed the title with his professional debut in Week 1 when he kicked the game-winning field goal in overtime against the Minnesota Vikings.

It is the fourth time a Bengals player has been awarded player of the week honors. Along with McPherson’s two times, quarterback Joe Burrow won the offensive honor in Week 4 and wide receiver Ja’marr Chase won it in Week 7.
