CLEVELAND, Ohio — “Rock on” were the words fans shouted outside Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse as the Rock Hall of Fame ceremony returned in-person right in the heart of Cleveland.

  • 13 musicians were inducted into the Hall of Fame
  • Fans were required to have either a negative COVID test or proof of vaccination to enter the venue

The stars took to the stage inside the arena. Taylor Swift kicked the night off performing before inducting Carole King. 

King called swift her professional granddaughter before thanking Aretha Franklin for paving the way for all women. 

"I have had this career of doing a thing that I never thought I'd do, which is to be a performer and for me a lot of the key tonight was the band," said King.

As the night went on there were performances from the likes of Keith Urban, H.E.R and Jennifer Hudson.  Drew Barrymore, Dave Chapelle, Dr. Dre, and Angela Bassett were among the presenters inducting the musicians into the Hall of Fame. 

"It's almost like a, you know, just a real full-circle moment. She absolutely deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame," said Angela Bassett.

LL Cool J and The Go-Go’s graced the stage. Jay-Z's induction brought down the house.

"I feel so honored to be celebrating in such a way. Thank you Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for . . . It's (an) incredible honor," said Jay-Z.

The night wrapped up with Paul McCartney inducting The Foo Fighters.
