COLUMBUS, Ohio — Multiple access ramps remain closed in central Ohio were closed Tuesday afternoon due to high water levels.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for northwestern Fairfield, eastern Franklin and southwestern Licking counties.

The warning issued at approximately noon was extended until 8 p.m.

The NWS said between 3 and 5 inches of rain had fallen with the following areas having experienced flooding: Reynoldsburg, Summit Station, Jersey, Blacklick Estates, Gahanna, Columbus, Grove City, Pickerington, Bexley, Pataskala, Canal Winchester, Groveport, Johnstown, Beechwood Trails, Whitehall, Etna, New Albany, Obetz, Urbancrest and Brice.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the ramp from I-70 westbound to Miller Avenue and Kelton Avenue in downtown Columbus is closed due to high water.

Also in the Columbus area, the ramps from I-270 southbound to I-70 eastbound and westbound are closed due to high water.

ODOT said drivers should avoid the areas.
