Are you planning on tailgating before a Cleveland Browns game this season? The city has released its rules for tailgating in the Municipal Lot outside of FirstEnergy Stadium.

Violation of the following rules, the city said, could result in a fine or ejection:

  1. No open pit fires
  2. Propane grills only (No charcoal)
  3. No alcohol
  4. Saving spaces prohibited
  5. You will be charged for all parking spaces that you occupy
  6. No in & out privileges
  7. All litter must be dispensed in trash containers
  8. Vandalism of any type will not be tolerated
  9. Crossing the shoreway is prohibited
  10. No private latrines.
  11. Lanes must remain clear of activity at all times

Each parking spot in the Muni Lot costs $25. The city is prohibiting cars from lining up on the shoreway before the lot opens.

The Muni Lot will open at 7 a.m. for weekend home games. For weeknight games, the eastern portion of the lot will open at noon and the rest will open at 5 p.m.

The city of Cleveland added that downtown parking restrictions will go into effect typically three hours before all home games and continue through two hours following the game. The city reminded the public to monitor signs downtown to ensure compliance with the parking restriction on game days.

The Browns will host just one preseason exhibition this season, which will be Aug. 22 against the New York Giants. The Browns’ regular season home opener is Sept. 19 against Houston.
