OHIO — The delta variant is spreading and COVID-19 cases are rising in Ohio. The sudden spike is prompting health officials to urge those who haven't been vaccinated against COVID-19 to go schedule an appointment in hopes of curbing the spread.

In the past few weeks, Ohio's K-12 schools, colleges and hospital systems have announced either mask or vaccine mandates, worried that if COVID-19 cases continue to grow, more mandates may follow.

This week, major central Ohio health systems including OhioHealth, Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children's Hospital are mandating employees to get the vaccine by the end of the year.

But with this renewed push for vaccinations, many people are looking all over the state to find them.

Below is a list of places that are distributing the vaccine in Ohio with links to schedule appointments:

Giant Eagle

Most Giant Eagle locations are allowing walk-ins with no appointment needed. To find a store near you with vaccines available, click here.

The only ongoing vaccine clinic is at its Grandview Yard location. Patients must reserve an appointment to be vaccinated. Details on how to register can be found on the company's website.

Walgreens

Patients are asked to fill out biographical information on the website before they are offered a series of available vaccine appointments to choose from. Available appointments at locations near your zip code that fall within the upcoming 14 days are then displayed. Same-day appointments are available.

CVS

After answering a brief series of COVID-19 screening questions on its website, and then entering biographical information, patients are offered a selection of vaccine appointments. Same-day appointments are available.

Rite Aid

Rite Aid offers vaccines by appointment only, which can be scheduled online. There will be a brief series of questions relating to biographical questions as well as a COVID-19 screening.

Ohio Department of Health

The state health department has an online portal that can also find nearby locations that are offering the vaccine. While some of the state's mass vaccination clinics have closed, some remain open, and there are still a few mobile clinics.

This portal is also updating with pop-up clinics, so you can check back regularly to see if there's a location even closer to you.
