CINCINNATI — A tractor-trailer overturned on I-75 southbound early Thursday, killing one driver and shutting down the highway for most of the day.

Police responded to the incident at 5:30 a.m. near the Norwood exit. One driver was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, according to Cincinnati police.

It's not known what caused the non-hazardous cargo to overturn. The highway isn't expected to reopen until late Thursday as crews work to clear the roadway and remove the trailer.

Police said detours are being made at Ronald Regan Highway and the Norwood Lateral.
