OHIO — Cedar Point is dropping its mask mandate for fully vaccinated guests ages 10 and older, and proof of vaccination won't be required. Instead, the park said it'll go by the honor system.

The park updated its website Friday, saying masks will be required for those who didn't get vaccinated and are indoors. Masks are encouraged but not required on rides and in areas where social distancing can't be attained. Guests also won't need to wear masks when actively eating or drinking.

“Face coverings should completely cover the nose and mouth, and not have exhalation valves or vents, which allows virus particles to escape,” Cedar Point wrote on its website.

Many COVID-19 protocols will still be in place for the 2021 season. Reservations must be made in advance at both Cedar Point and the Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, guests will get a health screening, including a temperature check and questionnaire, and hand sanitization stations will be located around the park.

Season ticket holders and single-day ticket holders must also make a reservation. However, if guests purchased a ticket before April 26, 2021, a reservation is not required.

While many places in Ohio are beginning to lift capacity restrictions, such as baseball stadiums, Cedar Point said it will still be operating with limited capacity.
