“My daughter wanted a lemonade stand and I figured this would be a safer way of going about it," Rachel Gonzalez said.

She and her three children woke up eariy, grabbed their supplies and headed out the door.

For months, they watched as seeds grew in their EDA Garden, which stands for Emilia, Damian and Ariana, the names Gonzalez's children.

Emilia, 6, was in charge of looking after the chicks, Damian, 4, organized the tadpoles and Ariana, 2, helped her mom lift what she could out of the truck.

"We have nine total," Emilia said as she counted each chick.

"Tadpoles change to frogs," Damian said to people passing by.

There were tomatoes, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, melon, lettuce, marigolds, milkweed, succulents, mint and more.

"We put it on a couple of groups on Facebook and I've had maybe 50, 60 messages from people interested in coming and supporting our family and getting some plants," she said.

By the end of the day they made $500. All of the money was donated.
