OHIO — Just two days before Joe Biden was inaugurated as president of the United States, Gov. Mike DeWine sent a letter to the administration asking for action on important issues facing Ohioans during the pandemic.

In nine bullet points, DeWine addressed the need for more vaccines, federal health care funding, aid to help launch large-scale vaccination sites, and several other requests.

DeWine told reporters at a press conference this week that the requests are in response to Biden's administration touching base, inquiring about the state's biggest needs.

“More of these conversations frankly have been more of them listening to the ideas that we have,” DeWine said. “They were careful to find out from us what we’re seeing on the ground, how things are moving.”

Following the requests, which were typed and printed, DeWine handwrote a small note at the bottom, saying, "Look forward to working with you!"
