DAYTON, Ohio — Getting gifts for kids in need this holiday season is very important to Cyndi McGlothin. That’s why she and her husband went to Walmart to pick out some toys. It’s all a part of the Ohio Coalition of Clubs donation.

What You Need To Know

  • The Ohio Coalition of Clubs biker organization hosted its annual toy drive

  • They purchased $7,800 of toys

  • All of the toys were donated to the Haines Children's Center

  • The toys will be delivered to kids in need in Dayton

“The times, the way they are now, (it's) so much more difficult. That’s important that kids have smiles on their faces on Christmas morning,” said McGlothin.

These toys will be donated to the Haines Children’s Center. Ohio Coalition of Clubs Public Affairs Officer Keith Tickle has been leading this initiative for three years now.

“It’s something that we really hold near and dear to us because we realized that we have some forgotten children out there during the holidays, and we want to let them know that they’re never forgotten and they’re never alone,” said Tickle.

McGlothin and her husband are one of dozens of other bikers to participate in the drive. Their goal was to buy $7,500 worth of toys and they exceeded that amount by $1,300.

“It’s really exciting because I don’t want to see any children waking up Christmas morning without any toys,” she said.

McGlothin says it brings her joy to know how much of a difference she’s making.

“There are a lot of children that are going to have a good Christmas this year,” she said.

In the next couple of days, all of these toys will be delivered to kids in need in Dayton. Montgomery Children Services Manager Leslie Keown says they’re so appreciative of this generous donation.

“We had really been concerned about donations and resources for our family, but the Ohio Coalition of Clubs has come through really strong and we’re so very grateful,” said Keown.
