COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine didn’t mince words Monday— with a stern message for bars and restaurants that disregarded state orders.
“The protocols, the rules for reopening bars and restaurants were very clear,” said DeWine.
He says he’s assembling a group that will crack down on crowded places.
“They will issue administrative citations that could result in the revocation of liquor licenses. Further, they will have municipal prosecutors to take potential action against these bad actors,” he said.
It comes after pictures circled over the weekend of jam-packed bars and restaurants across the state. He says these so-called bad actors are risking all the hard work so many have put into social distancing these past few months.
“The economic recovery of the State of Ohio is directly tied to our success in stopping coronavirus.”
As the number of cases continue to rise, the governor said he would not rule out closing Ohio again, should there be another spike.
