Ohio — The number of people relying on social media continues to grow as more people are trying to stay connected while social distancing. Spectrum News 1 Ohio spoke with Lori Moylan, public policy manager for Facebook.
Moylan highlighted the platform's new tools:
- The Faith Hub, which helps churches and other religious organizations build on the Facebook tools that were already available to them before the crisis started, and shows them the best way to utilize a Facebook group.
- The Small Business Hub centralizes resources that businesses can take advantage of during these times, and reach their customers.
- The COVID-19 Hub is where Moylan says users can go, "If you want the most up to date information about the state of the virus both here in the U.S. broadly, as well as how it's affecting your local community, so you'll see the most recent numbers from health experts, you'll see the most recent information from the CDC or your local health organizations."
Facebook has also launched a new Community Support site to connect those affected by the pandemic.
