HILLIARD, Ohio - In Central Ohio Legacy Smokehouse is giving out free lunches to children affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
- Legacy Smokehouse is located in Hilliard.
- The barbecue restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday.
- Free kid's meals are served between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Co-owner Chad Smock said he's thankful that the community is finding ways to support his restaurant during these difficult times and he's happy to support them as well.
"It's just a tough time for everybody right now. A lot of people think it's a fun time to be at home from school, but you've got to realize they're away from their friends. They had to give up their sports. They had to give up dance lessons. They had to give up everything. And there is a lot of kids where school is where they actually get fed and we wanted to do something to kind of give the kids a meal for those who potentially don't have food at home and then also for the kids who might have food at home, but just give them something to do. We have kids come in and it's a feld trip to Legacy where they run in and get their free meal and go home. And yesterday the kids were excited to go home and watch Frozen on Disney+ after their field trip to Legacy, so just something to give the kids something to look forward to and just get something in their tummies," he said.
Legacy Smokehouse is located at 3987 Main Street, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
