COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Anheuser-Busch brewery in Columbus has been satisfying beer lovers for more than 50 years.
- Construction began in 1966 on 226 acres of farmland and was completed two years later in 1968.
- The brewery can produce 5.6 million cans, 3 million bottles and 10,000 kegs of beer every day.
- The brewery produces 20 different Anheuser-Busch brands.
Whether your drink of choice is Budweiser, Bud Light, Busch or Busch Light you'll find each of them including 16 other brands of beer brewed inside this facility.
"It's really and honor and a privilege really to be the protector of the Budwesier brand and all of the products that we make," Brewmaster Matt Kaminske said.
Kaminske said the beechwood aging center is the heart of the brewery. Three hundred thirty tanks line the center and each one holds upwards of 1,200 barrels of beer as the product goes through its one to three week fermentation profile process.
Inside the packaging facility, General Manager Josh Zabek said they can fill 2,000 cans every minute.
"When we started here, we only made 1.8 million barrels and today we're capable of making almost 10 million. We're proud to be made in Ohio. We're proud to have 500 people that work here that bring their Ohio pride every single day and they have pride about the Columbus brewery and about the city of Columbus," Zabek said.
The brewery is located on Schrock Road in Columbus.
Anheuser-Busch was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1852. The company has 11 other breweries in the United States.
