Summit Academy is taking the closure day-by-day and will alert students if more classes need to be canceled next week.
The Ohio Department of Health is seeing a rise in flu activity across the state, with 338 new hospitalizations associated with the flu reported during the first week of January compared to 166 during the last week of December.
Children are among the groups most at risk for developing the flu and its complications and are more likely to spread the illness to others.
