1. Bill looks to ban ranked-choice voting in the Buckeye State

The normal voting process in the state allows individuals to choose one candidate they would like to see in office. However, in a process called ranked-choice voting, voters get to rank all the candidates on the ballot. The process has not been used in Ohio since the 1960s, and now a bill at the Statehouse is looking to ban the system in the Buckeye State. 

2. Iran says at least 103 people killed, 141 wounded in blasts at ceremony honoring slain general

Two explosions minutes apart Wednesday in Iran targeted a commemoration for a prominent general slain in a U.S. drone strike in 2020, killing at least 103 people and wounding at least 141 others as the Middle East remains on edge over Israel's war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

3. FAFSA application now open

The changes have caused challenges. The application didn’t open until Dec. 2023, when in the past it opened in October.

4. After a quiet week, our pattern turns more active this weekend with winter weather

5. Investigators focus on air traffic communication after fatal Tokyo runway crash

Investigators were focusing on communication between air traffic control and two aircraft at Tokyo's Haneda Airport on Wednesday, a day after a large passenger plane and a Japanese coast guard aircraft collided on the runway and burst into flames, killing five people.
