One day after Republicans were projected to retake the House majority, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that she will not seek another term as House Democratic leader, a role she has held for nearly two decades.

3. Nationwide Children's Hospital sparks joy for pediatric patients

A new holiday tradition is spreading a little extra holiday cheer for pediatric patients this season. Nationwide Children's Hospital lit up several butterfly lights throughout Central Ohio. One display is right outside the hospital along Livingston Avenue.

4. U.S. jobless claims fell to 222K last week

The U.S. job market remains healthy as fewer Americans applied for unemployment benefits last week, despite the Federal Reserve's rapid interest rate hikes this year intended to bring down inflation and tighten the labor market.
