COLUMBUS, Ohio — A grand jury filed an indictment against Pammy Maye on Tuesday, the mother accused of killing a 5-year-old Columbus boy about two weeks ago, according to court documents.

Maye, 48, is accused of suffocating her son, Darnell Taylor, and then putting his body in a sewer drain.

An Amber Alert went out for Darnell on Feb. 14. Maye's husband made a 911 call on Feb. 14 stating, "my wife just killed our foster child," according to call records. He said Maye drove off in a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep was recovered in Brooklyn, Ohio, later that morning.

Maye was found in the Cleveland area that Thursday and taken into custody, when more details about Darnell's body emerged.

Maye faces murder, kidnapping and child endangerment charges, according to court documents. Her preliminary court date is set for March 1.
