AKRON, Ohio — With extreme cold expected to follow this week’s major winter storm, the City of Akron announced that it is activating warming centers on Friday and Saturday. 

Four Akron community centers will be open from 8:30 a.m. through 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. All other Akron community centers will have normal hours. 

City officials said COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
