CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Light Up the Lake firework show will return after being canceled because of the pandemic last year.
The Downtown Cleveland Alliance's free show is slated for Sunday, July 4. Fireworks will be set off near FirstEnergy Stadium at Dock 20. The show begins at dusk and families can start setting up at 8 p.m.
The organization suggested these three areas for viewing:
- Flats West Bank, which includes Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica Boardwalk, Music Box Supper Club, Shooters on the Water, Superior Viaduct, Wendy Park and Whiskey Island
- Flats East Bank, which includes the Flats East Bank Boardwalk, Settlers Landing, Margaritaville, Punch Bowl Social Rooftop, Lago Veranda and other Flats East Bank restaurants
- North Coast Harbor, which includes Voinovich Bicentennial Park, Edgewater Beach and Kirtland Park
Last year, the event was pushed back to Sept. 19, but it never happened because city officials were concerned about COVID-19 spread.
But this year, it'll be a bustling downtown as the Cleveland Indians will face the Houston Astros at home at 1:10 p.m.
