OHIO — There are 75 state parks in Ohio, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources has a tool that can help you plan your next adventure.
The Ohio State Parks Passport book includes information for each of our state parks. Each park page highlights facilities, such as nature and visitor centers, available activities, local contact information, maps and more.
One of the most popular features of the passport books is the stamp section. Every time you visit a state park, you can stamp it with a special stamp from that park to commemorate your visit. Stamp locations for each park are listed in the book. They’re often found in visitor and/or nature centers. The book also has stickers in the back that you can use in lieu of stamps as you visit each park.
Jason Fallon with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources said Ohio state parks are very diverse.
“Our parks and our geography in the state is amazing. In northwest Ohio, you have the marshlands and the flatlands. In northeast Ohio, you have Lake Erie and wildlife fishing. [In] southeast Ohio, Hocking Hills, Lake Hope, all the different hills. [In] southwest Ohio, you have the Ohio River. Here in Central Ohio, there are little nooks and crannies with great hiking, great fishing, great boating. So Ohio really is a great place to explore the outdoors."
Ohio State Parks Passport books cost $10. You can buy one online at reserveohio.com or in-person at any of our nine state park lodge locations. They’re also available for purchase at most of our state park visitor and nature centers.
