Cleveland

Free Fishing Workshop with Cleveland Metroparks

  • Cost: Free
  • Info: Try your hand at catching rainbow trout at the lagoon with free fishing rods and bait at this event

Holi Festival of Colors

  • When and where: 7 to 11 p.m. April 5 at The Madison Venue, located at 4601 Payne Ave. in Cleveland
  • Cost: $57.81 for general admission, $28.14 for kids age 11-18 and free for kids younger than 10
  • Info: Expect to get covered in colorful powder at this event, which also includies drinks and food

Columbus

Go For Launch! 

  • When and where: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 5-6 at The Ohio State University, located at 281 W Lane Ave. in Columbus
  • Cost: $350 per student
  • Info: This two-day event allows for students in grades 8-12 to "dive into the world of space exploration" by meeting an astronaut, getting hands-on experience and more

Mahogany Moments: "One World, One Night" - All Around the World "Black and Gold" Met Gala

  • When and where: 6 to 10 p.m. April 5 at the Fawcett Center, located at 2400 Olentangy River Road in Columbus
  • Info: The conclusion of the African American Heritage Festival at OSU, this event features food, music, art and dancing. It also includes the presentation of various awards

Cincinnati

Spring Bird Walk

  • When and where: 8 to 9:30 a.m. on April 5 at Rowe Woods visitor center, located at 4949 Tealtown Road in Milford
  • Cost: $12 for non-members, free for members
  • Info: As the weather finally warms, the birds are back. This walk, whichwelcomes beginners, showcases these creatures and recommends bringing binoculars

Spring Fling & Egg Hunt Extravaganza

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 5 at The Morrow Arts Center, located at 10 Miranda Street in Morrow
  • Info: Enjoy food, shopping and—of course—egg hunts at this event. The egg hunts are seperated by age group, see website for timing details

Dayton

2025 International Federation of Armwrestling U.S. National Championship

  • When and where: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 4-6 at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway, located at 777 Hollywood Blvd. in Dayton
  • Cost: $50 for entry fees
  • Info: If you're the best armwrestler at your local pub or the family reunion, consider expanding your competition and testing your mettle. This qualifying event for the world championship features armwrestling competition for all ages

Hometown Expo 2025 — That Spring Thing

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 5 at Springboro High School, located at 1675 South Main St. in Springboro
  • Cost: Free
  • Info: This event boasts more than 180 local businesses to shop at as spring has finally arrived

Toledo

Toledo Helps Ukraine Bake Sale and Pysanky workshop 

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 5 at Rossford Recreation Center, located at 400 Dixie Highway in Rossford 
  • Cost: $30 registration fee for the pysanky worskshop
  • Info: The proceeds for these events go to humanitarian work of Toledo Helps Ukraine

Easter Bunny Photos for Pups & People

  • When and where: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 at Rover Come Over Doggy Daycare, located at 3945 Albon Road in Monclova
  • Cost: Price varies depending on package, see website for details
  • Info: Take photos with your pets and the Easter Bunny, with proceeds headed toward Golden Retriever Rescue Resource
