There's always plenty to do in Ohio over the weekend, but Spectrum News 1 gathered some of the highlights around each major metropolitan area across the state.

Cleveland

Women's Month Market

  • When and where: 12 to 6 p.m. March 29 and 30 at 138 E Main St. in Kent
  • Info: This market allows shoppers to support women owned businesses from a variety of community vendors

Cleveland International Film Festival

  • When and where: March 27-April 5 at Playhouse Square
  • Info: This film festival was founded back in 1977, and this year boasts 300 movies from 60 countries. While the event goes through April 5, there are plenty of movies to check out this weekend

Columbus

Jurassic Quest

  • When and where: 12 to 6 p.m. March 28, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 29 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 30 at the Ohio Expo Center Bricker Building, located at 717 East 17th Ave. in Columbus
  • Cost: Ticket prices range from $22 to $80, see website for details
  • Info: A perfect event for any dinosaur-loving kiddos, this traveling show features fossil exchavation, raptor training and more

Thrift and Sip

  • When and where: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 30 at DogTap Columbus, located at 96 Gender Road in Canal Winchester
  • Cost: Free
  • Info: Enjoy food and drink while you shop for new and used goods at this family and pet-friendly event with proceeds headed toward The Hope Resource Center

Cincinnati

Women in the Outdoors Series: archery basics, compound bow

  • When and where: 1 p.m. March 29 at Winton Woods, adventure outpost 
  • Cost: $24
  • Info: This women-only event is open to those interested in learning the basics of compound bows. You must be 16 or older to register

Neon Brush Kids: A Family-Friendly Art Experience

  • When and where: 1:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. March 30 at 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati, located at 609 Walnut St. in Cincinnati
  • Cost: Adult tickets cost $30 and children cost $21
  • Info: This event allows adults and their children to paint in the dark using glowy fluorescent paint

Dayton

The Great Ohio Toy Show — Spring 2025

  • When and where: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 29 at the Green County Fairgrounds and Expo Center, located at 120 Fairground Road in Xenia
  • Cost: Admission is $6, free for kids 10 and younger
  • Info: Never too early to get some holiday shopping in, and you may find some interesting items at the toy show. The event claims they have "some of the rarest toys in the world" available for puchase

The Book Of Mormon

  • When and where: 8 p.m. March 28 and 2 and 8 p.m. March 29 at the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, located at 1 West Second Street
    in Dayton
  • Cost: Ticket prices vary, see website for details
  • Info: Consider a night out to the iconic, comedic musical. The 2.5-hour show does contain explicit language

Toledo

Volunteer Opportunity: Forrest Woods

  • When and where: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. March 29 at Forrest Woods Nature Preserve
  • Cost: Free, but register by emailing lrodriguez@blackswamp.org
  • Info: Two sessions are available for volunteers to assist crews in maintaining trails and improving wildlife habitat. Work gloves, water and cutting tools are provided

Riverwalk Beer Festival

  • When and where: 5 to 9 p.m. March 29 at The Ribbon at Glass City Metropark
  • Cost: Tickets are $60 or $20 for a designated driver ticket
  • Info: Enjoy tastings from local breweries, music and food at this 21 and up event ushering in the spring season
