CLEVELAND — The Huntington Convention Center in downtown Cleveland will be filled with hundreds of vendors and opportunities to meet some special guests.
Fan Expo will take place through Sunday and is a collection of all kinds of "geekdoms."
“No matter what you think geekdom is, we have something for you, whether that's comics, anime, cartoons, movies, sci-fi, everything. Fan Expo has something for you,” said Victor Dandridge, lead moderator for Fan Expo.
Hundreds of vendors set up booths at the convention center.
There are collector Pokemon cards, 3-D printed creations, plushies, clothing and limited edition toys. But it’s not just stuff to you can buy.
"There are a ton of celebrities that you get to meet. We've got some 'Supernatural' guys here. Jared Padalecki, if you are a Supernatural fan, and I know you are,” Dandridge said.
Speaker panels are on tap as well as photo ops and the opportunity to get autographs.
For the adult crowd, there will be an after-hours comics and cocktails event, but they didn’t forget about the little ones. There are kid-friendly events throughout.
One vendor was working on displaying her lass and gemstone dice for the Dungeons and Dragons fans.
“These are classic D&D sets, but there are tons of other games you can play them with,” the vendor said.
“It’s all about celebrating the things that just bring you joy,” Dandridge said.
The event wouldn’t be complete without a cosplay contest, including a Clark Kent lookalike contest.
