OHIO — This year, those 17 and younger checked more deer during Ohio’s youth gun hunting weekend compared to last year.
Hunters checked 10,449 white-tailed deer on Saturday and Sunday, whereas last year, they harvested 10,033 deer.
Of this year’s count, 6,042 were antlered and 4,407 were antlerless.
The top 10 counties for deer taken during the youth gun hunting weekend are as follows:

This year’s count is also higher than the three-year average from 2021 to 2023, which was 9,061 deer.
