CLEVELAND — A press release from the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport offered some tips to travellers ahead of the busy flying season around the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
"The two busiest travel days of the holiday season are the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, exceeded by the Sunday after Thanksgiving," the release stated.
The airport expects around 150,000 customers during the travel period, up from about 127,000 last year. The release states that the airport will assign additional staff during this period of heavy travel in customer service, law enforcement, custodial and maintenance.
The airport offers the following tips to travelers:
- Expect longer lines at ticket counters and security
- Arrive at least two hours before scheduled departure
- Visit the airport’s website for information
- Follow the airport on Twitter and Facebook for updates
- Consider using your airline’s website for advance check-in as well as to print your boarding pass, up to 24-hours before your flight
- If picking someone up, consider parking in one of the airport’s two Cellphone Lots while you wait
- Consider taking the RTA Red Line to the airport
The release also issued several TSA travel tips:
- Have government ID ready at ticket counter and in security
- Prepare for the security screening process
- It included information about TSA Pre✓™ and CLEAR
The airport also highlighted some features for travellers passing through, including an unveiled sculpture and the re-opening of several restaurants.
"Live music and entertainment is scheduled on Wednesday, November 22nd to surprise and delight our guests as they depart or arrive," the release stated.
