CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo revealed two baby Amur tigers have been welcomed to the family.
The zoo said the tiger cubs were born on Nov. 6 to mom, Zoya, and dad, Hector, at the zoo’s Rosebrough Tiger Passage.
The gender of the cubs are unknown, and it'll be some time before visitors begin to see the babies, as the zoo said this is critical bonding time with their mom.
"They need privacy to bond. We've set up the maternity den with cameras so that we can monitor them remotely," said Jen DeGroot, a Cleveland Metroparks Zoo associated animal coordinator.
DeGroot said it'll be around eight to 12 weeks before the cubs will be able to venture around.
