Property owners in Saratoga Springs told officials what they want from a proposed bill regulating short-term rentals on Tuesday night.
The city council hosted its final public forum of the year to get feedback on the "lodging establishments" proposal.
If passed, the bill would establish a compliance registry for property owners, increase fees and limit how often short-term rentals can be leased per year. It would also require owners to be insured for a minimum of $1 million to cover property damage or injuries to visitors.
The city says the law is meant to encourage responsible renting while protecting local tourism.
