What You Need To Know

  • There is a Marginal Risk of severe weather for southeastern Massachusetts

  • Some storms could produce damaging winds

  • Heavy rain is also possible across the state

A Marginal Risk (level 1/5) of severe weather is in place for southeastern Massachusetts. Damaging winds will be our main threat for today.

You'll want to tie down any outdoor objects that could blow away easily.

The stronger storms will start to pop up across southeastern Massachusetts around 4 p.m, but everyone across the state will have to deal with the heavy rain.

The rain and storms will be consistent throughout the day, and we'll see more strong storms around 8 p.m.

Heavy rain could lead to ponding on the roads. If the roads are flooded, turn around. Driving through the water could become very dangerous if you don't know how deep it is.

These storms could also produce dangerous lightning. If you hear thunder, head indoors.

The storms will last into the early morning on Friday, and heavy rain will also continue overnight. If you're waking up early Friday morning, you might run into some issues on the roads with water, so plan some extra time for your morning commute.

Rain will be more scattered throughout the day Friday, so we should get some dry time.
