WORCESTER, Mass. - Spectrum News 1’s Cam Jandrow recently sat down with the chairwoman of the MassGOP, Amy Carnevale, to discuss the current state of affairs of the state’s republican political party.

"We’ve made a lot of progress in the last year," Carnevale said. "We went from a party that frankly was in a bit of trouble. We were in debt and had some legal issues and had lost frankly a lot of elections."

She added the Mass GOP has made a lot of progress since, citing the two special election victories in Worcester County by State Senator Peter Durant and State Representative John Marsi.

Of the March 5 Presidential Primary Carnevale said, "We had over 600,000 voters choose Republican ballots…which is the second highest turnout for Republicans in a presidential year…we think there’s a couple of reason for that. One is the affordability in Massachusetts and then two is the migrant issue…so we’re really encouraged by the numbers that turned out."
