BOSTON, Mass. - Worcester native and former St. John's baseball standout Brian Abraham has an all-consuming job in the Boston Red Sox front office, he is the Sr. Director of Player Development. So when you see that prospects like Roman Anthony and Kristian Campbell are some of the highest rated in all of baseball, Abraham's finger prints are all over that. And it certainly brings him joy and pride, recently the Red Sox had some of their top prospects at Fenway Park as part of their Rookie Development Program, for Abraham it means spring training is right around the corner. "Yeah the Rookie Development Program is always a time when you turn the calendar over, guys getting ready for the spring, guys getting ready for the season." said Abraham, "It's an opportunity for them to see Boston, to see the fans, be a part of the community and really feel what it's like to be a big leaguer. "
And as for the high rankings for Anthony and Campbell, "Incredibly exciting, I think it's a testament to the work they've put in, the time they spent in the cages, the time they spent in the weight room, we're here to support them along their journey."
