WORCESTER, Mass. — The Assumption men's basketball team had their 11-game win streak snapped by SNHU, falling 69-66 on Wednesday night, while the Assumption women's team fell to Southern New Hampshire 59-54.

In the men's game, SNHU jumped out to an early lead and forced the Hounds to play catch up, which they did, tying the game up before the half. The game featured 12 lead changes, and in the end the Penmen gave Assumption their first league loss of the season.

Assumption had three players lead the way with 10 points each — Kyle Hicks, Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton and Daouda Dembele. 

Assumption is now 11-3 overall, 6-1 in the NE-10. 

Onto the women's game: Southern New Hampshire came out on fire and led 21-10 at the end of the first quarter.

The fourth quarter saw a furious comeback from Assumption as the Hounds scored 14 unanswered points to climb within one point with 3:32 left, but the Penmen hung on to get the win.

Kaijhe Hall led the Hounds with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
