PAXTON, Mass. - Playing college baseball in Central Mass means dealing with brutal conditions and many indoor practices because of snow or rain, in the past the Anna Maria baseball team would practice on their basketball court, but this season they have been able to use The Soccer Asylum in Paxton a big indoor turf facility where the AmCats can run a full practice, it's been great for everyone.  "In comparison to last year, it's a night and day difference being able to be in here,"  said Pitcher Nick Choate, "we can take full infield, outfield, we can run pitchers through pitchers fielding practice circuits and live situations without actually being on a field.  And just the ability to be on turf taking ground balls every day compared to a hardwood floor has made the difference for our defense I believe.  Just being able to play on the same surface that you play games on is a big game changer for us."

"So working in here is great because not everyone has this,"  said Captain, Tommy Sasso, "not every school, we're just grateful to be able to come in here and have a turf facility, a turf surface to use and work on our defense a little bit more."
